An International Thriller

Dr. Ana Santos is a Brazilian virologist working in Nigeria. She’s bookish, intelligent, and a little lonely, which is why she volunteers at a rural one-room school.

Her life spins out of control when an unknown man bursts into school and drags one student, Zakia, from class by the hair. Ana tries to help but, two hours later, both she and Zakia are framed for the man’s murder. Her troubles escalate when she discovers that someone has hired mercenaries to kill her.

Ana enlists two unlikely allies: her ex-lover, engineer Lei Zhou, and her current lover—bad boy Carter Davis. The entire group is chased through Boko Haram territory in Nigeria, the humid jungles of central Africa, and the arid terrain of Chad. The answer to why this is all happening will impact the lives of billions of people all over the globe—including the ones they love most.
